Unique Master program is launched on Entrepreneurship and Finance
Higher School of Insurance and Finance and the Institute for entrepreneurs of Cisco launched a joint Master program in Entrepreneurship and Finance. The program is a unique for Bulgaria educational product that represents a global knowledge of successful business in the light of proven entrepreneurs in Bulgaria.
The program aims to build sustainable practice-oriented knowledge and skills applicable in different types and sizes of business organizations. The basic principle for structuring the program is a combination of international know-how with successful local practice.
The content of the program was developed jointly by the academic capacity of Higher School of Insurance and Finance and the Institute for entrepreneurs of Cisco whose courses are based on the programs of leading educational organizations, including Cornell University and Stanford University.
"We approached with our partners to this master's program with belief in the importance of finance in the business and broader understanding of entrepreneurship - the internal desire to undertake new ventures that achieve prosperity and positive change in the economic environment and society", explained Prof. Grogorii Vazov PhD, president of VUZF University. "Therefore the Master's program develops practical skills for starting and financing new business ventures for the development of established small and medium companies, and last but not least - Entrepreneurship in the large organization," he added.
"Bulgaria is the first country in Central and Eastern Europe with this type of degree program, which combines international know-how from the programs of the the Institute for entrepreneurs of Cisco with local, practical and academic experience," said Milena Dumanova, commercial manager of Cisco Bulgaria.
The academic team of the program embodies the mission of the project: to create sustainable and practically oriented knowledge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship and finance. For that purpose, it combines successful entrepreneurs who started and developed their business in Bulgaria and young and talented academic lecturers who carry the spirit of new times in the Bulgarian education.
The teaching process develops pro-active and inovative behavior, management skills to identify potential new business opportunities inside and outside the organization. The program focuses on development, financing and management of new ventures, business lines, products, services, projects. The focus of the program is to build and improve the knowledge and skills in finance - financial analysis and evaluation of business potential.
Specific feature of the program is its emphasis on information technologies and their potential for increasing the efficiency and development of business cases, regardless of field of action and life stage.
The first students in the program begin their studies at the end of April 2011. Exams launch on 10 March 2011 and are held every week. The Master program is 1 year (2 semesters) and will be held in the building of VUZF University. After its successful completion students receive a certificate from the Institute for entrepreneurs of Cisco diploma and a Master of Entrepreneurship and Finance from VUZF University - Top 4 of the best universities in the field of Economics from the rating system of universities in Bulgaria, of Ministry of Education and Science.
